Olga Takhtarova's Innovative Granola Packaging Design Wins Silver A' Design Award

Olga Takhtarova, the designer behind the young Ukrainian brand Granovita, has revolutionized the packaging design of granola products. The innovative design, which emphasizes healthy living and environmental sustainability, has earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2022.

As the world shifts towards healthier lifestyles, the Ukrainian market is no exception. Unhealthy snacks are gradually being replaced with healthier alternatives, and granola is leading the charge. Granovita, founded in 2016, is a brand that embodies this change. The brand's mission is to promote healthy and balanced nutrition, offering products for breakfast and energy throughout the day.

Takhtarova's unique approach to packaging design sets Granovita apart. Instead of using the common flexible doy-pack, she suggested a cardboard box. The rough surface of the box, coupled with delicious images of fruits and grains, not only expresses the concept of healthy living but also encourages consumers to buy Granovita granola.

Environmental sustainability was a key consideration in the design process. The packaging uses cardboard, a compostable material, aligning with the current trends in grain packaging. This environmentally friendly solution keeps costs down while promoting sustainability.

The design of Granovita's packaging also plays a significant role in customer engagement. The illustrations on the packaging, along with the bright colors and expressive inscriptions, represent a happy and healthy lifestyle. This modern design invites customers to rediscover breakfast and stimulates sales, bringing a refreshing change to the cereal market.

The project, which started in January 2021 and concluded in July of the same year, was carried out in Dnipro, Ukraine. The main challenge was to create a design that expresses appetite, naturalness, and healthiness while emphasizing that Granovita is a product for an active person who cares about their health. The result is a packaging design that reflects honesty about the product and its ingredients, inspiring consumer confidence.

Granovita's innovative approach to granola packaging has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
